From the Editor

By Kathy Evans

Well here it is the end of February already, and of course The Communicator should have been at the printer two weeks ago. But many missed deadlines delinquent advertisers, writers, editors.... etc haven't helped. If I hear one more "Change this", "add that", "can I have another day" I'll be jumping off the roof of my house. I'm rushing I'm frustrated and very, well... stressed.

Ever been there? I'm sure in some way or the other you have. We all have to deal with demands and frustrations which give us headaches and make life a little less enjoyable. For some it's much more than that. My son, for instance, even at his young age cannot handle stress. The worrying and fretting (mostly over schoolwork) makes him physically ill. We need to learn to handle stress and when it becomes more than we can handle we need to look for help. In this issue we examine a personal story of the effects stress can have on an individual, the effects it has on the body and some ways to ease the strain.

We have several exciting articles for you in this issue. Deborah Craig-Claar shares the story of her new work with David T. Clydesdale, "Our Flag Was Still There". This patriotic musical focuses on our country's flag and its presence throughout our history. Lindsay Terry shares the story behind, "Come, Now is the Time to Worship;" Keith McClung speaks about making changes in your ministry and the things that often stand in the way and Brad Herring gives hints about preparing your tech team for Easter.

We also have an anonymous submission that deals with the serious issue of pornography addiction. Recently the pastor at my church has shared with us the story of his 15 year addiction (which he has overcome). This was following the arrest of one of our deacons by the FBI for solicitation of a minor over the Internet. Sexual addictions are very real and can effect anyone, even those in the ministry. The article published here shares a similar story and we hope that it will bring to light this very serious issue that is affecting more and more people everyday.

I hope that the words shared here will be a blessing to you. If you would like to contribute to The Communicator or have suggestions, please write me at kathy@jjonline.com.

In Christ,

Kathy
