A View From The Front Lines
A "Special" Time
By Kirk Lyons
Well, we have completed another Summer conference season.
Gatlinburg was as beautiful as always with plenty of highlights, but none bigger than the performance we enjoyed from Denver and the Mile High Orchestra. We moved on from Gatlinburg to New York City for the 10th and final year of Worship America in the Big Apple. If you have never visited New York City treat yourself and do so. The city that never sleeps, with incredible food and wonderful entertainment is a must see for all. I will miss our yearly visits but hope we can go in the future, play tourists and, most importantly, not worry about working.
As we move through this our second busiest time of the year Shanda and I have tossed around the idea of building a new home. With a growing family and incredible interest rates, now seems to be the time. We placed our current home on the market to test the waters and see if God was in agreement with the plan we were making. I have a tendency to get way ahead of Him and thought it might be good to get a little confirmation from Above. Six days later we had a contract on our home and will actually have to move from it before you even have time to read this article.
I mention the above because we are scrambling to pack, get our temporary home ready, work endless hours at J&J, and, on top of that, try to get something in writing for this issue of the magazine. In the short time I have to sit and type, I've decided to fill my spot with specials instead of words. Take a look below and do your Christmas shopping early.
Waiting on a cloud,
Kirk
