A View From The Front Lines
A Worshipful Heart
By Kirk Lyons
Greetings from the City On The Bay (Mobile Bay that is!). I pray the Lord has blessed your lives and ministries incredibly since we last visited.
We're quickly approaching our one-year anniversary here at America's favorite choral distributor. To say time has flown by would be an understatement. We have been incredibly blessed since our arrival and have seen God at work in a miraculous ways at J&J Music. I am looking forward to hitting the conference trail this summer and getting to meet those of you who will be attending these incredible events.
On the home front we are quickly approaching another ordering system upgrade. We will go live on this new improved version on June 4th. This system will allow our sales team to process your orders more efficiently and our warehouse team speed and accuracy in getting the orders on there way to you. We have also finalized a site plan for our new office & warehouse facility. We are in desperate need of additional space and this incredible facility will allow us to serve you and grow for years to come.
By now you should have had time to finish your copy of Fresh Power by Pastor Jim Cymbala and are wondering what you'll do while you wait for Mrs. Carol's book, He's Been Faithful, to release in August. I've got a suggestion, two very small easy to read books that will change your lives forever: The Prayer of Jabez and it's follow up Secrets of The Vine. These two books are the definition of "great things come in small packages" In fact I have just learned that Prayer of Jabez soared to the #1 position on the USA Today and New York Times hardback advice list. Read them and be blessed!
Christmas in May! (And I thought retail prepared early) Although I was unable to attend MuciCalifornia, I have heard some incredible projects for the upcoming season. "All the Best for Christmas" from Lillenas is a collection of 21 choral favorites that can be used for pageants, concerts or a simple evening worship service. "Portraits of Christmas" from Word is another incredible collection that celebrates the Christmas season. A flexible project that can be used for an entire Christmas musical or a simple Christmas desert.
Coming from Praise Gathering specifically for your Christmas Eve service is "Watch Night". You will not want to miss the premiere of this during our Gatlinburg and Branson conferences. And although I haven't heard this project yet, I am told that Genevox has a wonderful work in "Gift of Heaven". Finally, "Light of the World" from The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. Listen and be blessed!
I'll close our time together with a lesson learned by this simple-minded servant orchestrated by His Heavenly Father as only He can do. I realized 2 days ago that I had picked up a nail in the sidewall of one of the new tires on our truck. Seeing this my first thought was... "Great a new tire! They won't be able to fix a hole on its side, I'll probably have to buy a new one!" I drove to work the next day dreading the inconvenience of having to bring the truck into the tire center having to arrange a ride to drop off & pick up the vehicle and of course the expense of having to buy another new tire. About an hour after dropping the truck off, I received a call from the tire center informing me that they were able to fix the tire after all, (yeah!) and also to let me know that when they removed the rear tire to fix it, the rear brakes practically fell off the truck. Seems they've been broken for sometime and the only thing that was stopping me was the front breaks. WOW!!! God to Kirk... "Sorry for the nail Bubba, but I had to let you know about the brakes before you wound up killing somebody or yourself." The lesson was not yet over...see...I shared this with Brother Gary at Communicator Central and his response was "He saved you with a nail..huh..it wasn't the first time Brother Kirk. It was that old cross and those nails that have saved you for eternity. Yes Brother Kirk, it's all about the blessings from the nails."
Looking for a cloud!
